PEF Contribution

  • PEF has invested in the Every Child a Chance Trust, a charity which aims to unlock the educational potential of socially disadvantaged children through the development and promotion of evidence-based, early intervention programmes
  • PEF has invested specifically in the Trust’s new Every Child Counts programme which is taking the principles behind Every Child a Reader and adapting them for mathematics
  • PEF is taking a strategic role in the Trust’s development, and one of our Trustees, Dwight Poler of Bain Capital, has joined the Board of Trustees for the Every Child a Chance Trust.

Introducing the Charity

The Trust was established in 2007. It grew out of the outstandingly successful Every Child a Reader project , which showed that with the right intervention it is possible to tackle the literacy difficulties which blight many children’s lives This three-year £10m scheme, now being rolled out nationally, was funded by a partnership of businesses and charitable trusts with matched funding from government.
