CAF American Donor Fund

If you are a US citizen paying tax in both the US and the UK, you may be entitled to tax relief in both geographies by donating to PEF through the CAF American Donor Fund (CADF). This may be the most tax-efficient way to support Private Equity Foundation.

How does it work?

The CAF American Donor Fund is managed in the UK and wholly owned by CAF America, a US 501 (c)(3) public charity, and part of CAF’s international network of charities. As a result, donations to the fund are classed as gifts to a US public charity. This means they qualify for a tax deduction in the US as well as Gift Aid benefits in the UK.
CADF has approved PEF as a charity that can be nominated to receive grants.

How you can give via CADF

  • Make a single, one-off donation to the fund and suggest that PEF receives a grant
  • Open your own donor-advised fund (DAF) account and make multiple payments to benefit the causes you care about on a continuing basis
  • Donate the income from an invested Trust Account (minimum balance £100,000) to support PEF over a longer period of time
