Don’t bark
Spruce up your Christmas AND help more young people into work this winter by joining forces with PEF and giving a social enterprise the opportunity to set up shop in your office.
The Kennington Cross Flower Stall is an initiative run by PEF portfolio charity, Tomorrow’s People, which provides job placements and training opportunities for young people that other agencies find hard to reach. This year, the flower stall is branching out and, in association with PEF, is offering a variety of seasonal services to firms:
Book a stall in your reception between 16th and 27th November, for staff to pre-order their fresh Nordman Fir tree (between 5ft and 7ft). The trees themselves will be available for delivery within Greater London (at an additional cost) or collection from the Kennington Cross Flower Stall on 11th and 12th December.
- Corporate Christmas trees
Whether you prefer artificial or fresh, tall or short, the flower stall can provide your office with the right tree and it will even ‘dress’ it for you.
Trees of 10ft or over and any tree dressing requirements are available for ordering between 1st October and 1st November, while smaller trees need to be ordered by 30th November. Dates for delivery and/or tree dressing to be arranged with each company.
Finally, book the seasonal fair and staff won’t even have to step outside to pick up any last minute shopping - a stall in your reception will be stocked full of seasonal plants, decorations and small gifts. Available for two to three hour periods between 7th and 23rd December.
All participants in the Tomorrow’s People scheme are drawn from the charity’s “Working it Out” Programme which works with young people to overcome multiple barriers and build a path to economic independence. Programmes are 16 weeks long and focus on ‘Community Challenges’ developing leadership, initiative and involvement, and enabling young people on the edge to play positive roles within their communities and to deal with difficult issues around motivation, confidence and self-esteem.
During their placement, the young people are fully involved in sales and the management of the flower stall, and the enterprise helps them to develop their skills in communication, customer service, financial management and marketing.
Don’t miss out! Stall slots are limited so please email kate@privateequityfoundation.org to find out more and register your firm’s interest.
