PEF pro bono

On 16th September we held our first pro bono drinks event to thank the huge number of you who have given of your own free time to help PEF and its charities during the last three years. Over 140 individuals have now been involved with PEF, giving over 9,500 voluntary hours and helping change 19,000 young lives.

The evening, kindly hosted by Kirkland and Ellis LLP was a huge success. James Learner, a corporate partner at Kirkland and Ellis LLP, and PEF Trustee, David Blitzer, provided the welcome, followed by PEF’s portfolio manager, Harvey Koh. Harvey summarized the types of work that volunteers have been involved in, and several volunteers described their experiences of working with the PEF portfolio. PEF Trustee, Carl Parker, brought the formal proceedings to a close with a discussion of the similarities and differences between business and charities.
