Sophie Allen from AMG seconded to PEF team

Sophie Allen has been seconded to PEF for one day a week from Armstrong Management Group (AMG), a leadership consulting firm. Sophie is initially working to help PEF portfolio charities meet the challenge of managing and developing human capital in their context. She has already begun work with the CEOs of a number of portfolio charities to identify strategic issues across a range of areas including talent procurement, development, motivation and retention. PEF believes that this work will maximise operational value across our portfolio. Going forward, it is envisaged that Sophie will also help the PEF team coordinate pro bono and volunteer engagements so that the skills and expertise of private equity professionals and advisors are deployed for maximum impact.

Sophie has a wide range of experience with private equity firms. Her work at AMG has involved executive searches for senior operating and investment professionals within the industry, as well as CEOs and top management for private and public companies. She has also worked as a career advisor to many top level executives across Europe and completed several leadership consulting projects. She has always wanted to work in the charitable sector and is very excited about her new role that allows her to combine leadership best practice from the private equity world with PEF charitable ambitions.
