Berlin Marathon

In the first event of its kind, a team of 10 runners from across the private equity community has kicked off its fundraising campaign in advance of the Berlin Marathon on 20 September 2009.

For many in the team, which is made up of runners from Cinven, Cognetas, Clifford Chance, Horwath Clark Whitehill LLP, and AMG, this will be their first marathon but they remain undaunted. As Mitesh Patelia notes: “What do Oprah Winfrey, George W. Bush and Will Ferrell all have in common? They have all run marathons. If there’s one thing this proves, it’s that anyone can run a marathon!”

New marathon runner Nayen Pankhania from Cognetas said: “Running your first marathon is a real challenge but I know it’s for an outstanding cause. We will put the miles in training and in the race but we need the industry to get behind us and show their support through sponsorship.”
