19.10.11: Full Potential Football

Apax reign supreme

The Private Equity Community came out in force again last week supporting disadvantaged young people reach their full potential. Eighteen teams from the Private Equity community took part in the biannual football tournament at London’s Soccerdome raising over £36,000 of vital funds for the Private Equity Foundation (PEF).

PEF supporter Apax Partners cruised through the early stages and battled in the final to overcome a spirited side from Simpson Thacher & Bartlett 1-0.

Shaks Ghosh, Chief Executive of the Private Equity Foundation:

“Yet again the Private Equity community has come out in force to support disadvantaged young people through the power of football. Congratulations to Apax who have laid the gauntlet for the next event with a terrific display.”

The next biannual PEF Football Tournament takes place in May 2012 – with a very special twist to the event. Keep your eyes peeled for the announcement in the New Year. To register your interest in the next event please contact: hollie@privateequityfoundation.org

The Private Equity Foundation

The Private Equity Foundation (PEF) was set up in 2006 to support children and young people to reach their full potential. The private equity community’s donations of money and pro-bono business expertise are working to create a safety net of support for children at home, through school, in the community and into the workplace. The Private Equity Foundation has provided basic skills, social and emotional support and skills for work programmes for 42,000 children and young people through 18 charities.
